 Thunderbird 5

This Space station was designed by Anderson/Meddlings and was originally presented in the TV movie Thunderbirds are GO in 1965.

Thunderbird 5 is the Space Station par excellence

                     .
One of the most interesting vehicles on the Thunderbirds TV program was the Thunderbird 5.  The Thunderbird 5 is the Anderson version of an orbital space station. It was fully equipped and manned by John Tracy who was seen many times orbiting the Earth, monitored the earth for situations requiring rescue missions.
              .
The Thunderbird 5 has some similarity to the earlier circular von Braun series spaced stations but does not spin to create its own gravity.  In fact its circular ring is only a single component in many an interesting mixture of parts that make up the space station.  It has a main and upper deck as well as several antenna appendages above and below.  While never explained, it is possible that it has a rotating wheel inside to create the gravity inside the station that is shown in the series. Like the other spaceships in the series, it has a lot of detail.
              .
The Thunderbird 5 was a unique and interesting space station.
